Vons excels at what they do, delivering the highest quality chicken and providing the most incredible service possible. Reached out to the restaurant over the phone to ask if I could host a gathering here to celebrate my birthday and it was the best decision of my life. If you ever meet Alex, you must know that he is one of the kindest, most patient, and respectful people I've worked with ever. I asked him if I could bring in a group that would max capacity the restaurant, and after he spoke with his management, we were able to book the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. He answered all my questions and for someone who struggles with forgetting things and dreading a socially awkward moment, he never once made it a bad experience. From when I first walked in to when I left, they provided as many accommodations as possible, helping rearrange tables if needed, or providing a knife to cut the cake and even utensils and plates to serve the cake, or giving us take out boxes for the leftovers. Throughout the evening they kept asking if everything was okay. They even provided a complementary bottle of wine to go with our meal. When we ran out of food, we were able to just order more! You literally could not have asked for more to run a birthday dinner Now on to the restaurant/food: It's very spacious inside. One thing I love about this place is the seating compared to other Vons. The chicken here is amazing quality. Personally, I would stick to the fried options and I'd choose the wings/drummettes over their drums because you just get more! My favorite flavors are the garlic, honey butter and regular crispy. They just hit the spot perfectly for me. The Yangnyeum is also fantastic but it gets a little too saucy for me! Their sides are phenomenal, their fries are perfectly crisp and hot. Their japchae provides a lighter taste and balances against the fried chicken, and their kimchi fried rice is on point. Alex and his staff were the stars and I couldn't have asked for a better group to help me make my birthday such an amazing experience.
This response has been consistently giving out great fried chicken and they've always been super accommodating with my requests of putting the sauce on the side! Also no shame in asking for more sauce!
Let me start off that the service at this location was amazing! Both of the people that helped us the young lady behind the register and the other man in charge that day were soo soo attentive. And really made it such a nice meal. We decided to dine in since we live nearby and it was emptyyy which we loved lol. We got the crispy hot chicken which was, delicious, not too hot and as in the name super crispy. The kimchi fried rice was okay nothing crazy, would always love more cabbage but it was enjoyable. And not pictured but we also decided to try the baked Von special wings, not a fan at all it tasted like a mixture of bbq & ketchup, do not recommend. Everything else was delightful!
I know there are many locations but this is the first one I went to and I was there recently too. Their chicken is still on point. Nice and crispy! I definitely got my fried chicken fixed! If you like to eat very spicy then you should ask about their secret hot sauce that is not on the menu. Be careful too since it is very spicy!! We got our food pretty quick and beat a few crowds when we got there! Please follow me on Yelp or IG @eatwithjennime if you like my vibe!! Tysm
We ordered a half order of the honey butter and half order of the real garlic fried chicken (mix of drums and wings). Both came with a side of radish and coleslaw. They also give you gloves to eat your chicken with. The chicken was fried to perfection, crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I personally preferred the honey butter one. The drums were really big, I started to get full after eating 3 of them. The rose ddukbokki was a bit of a let down. I felt like the sauce was a bit too runny and tasted too fishy because of all the fish cakes they put in it. I would probably skip that next time. Overall, great place to get korean fried chicken!
First time trying this location, 2nd time trying Vons. I'm a soy-garlic type of a girl but this time decided to put my faith into trying their yangnyeom and honey butter powder. If you just want plain ol' fried chicken, I wouldn't necessarily recommend Vons. The chicken is a little dry compared to Jollibee. The yangnyeom is standard to me, no amazing standouts but definitely makes KFC, KFC. The honey butter was interesting but I grew to like it, it was kind of a sweeter profile to the fried chicken, but since it's a powder- it didn't help that the chicken wasn't the juiciest. HOWEVER, with leftovers and a handy-dandy air fryer, the honey butter melted and developed a beautiful crust onto the chicken. The cheese balls weren't like mozzarella sticks type of cheese, it was chewy and paired with ketchup. I liked having a difference in textures while eating, but not needed. Chicken comes with pickled radish which I always love and a super mayo-y sweet coleslaw to help refresh the palate. Wished there was more coleslaw though! Service was great, I mean we were the only ones in there at 8pm but they provide gloves and water for you. No awkward waiting around for a server. Restroom is clean and restaurant is well kept!
This place is where I discovered my love for Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) way back, so this review is long overdue. I used to dine in, but now I usually order take-out; either way, the food never misses. They offer great flavors like the honey butter and the yangnyeom, but my go-to is the Crispy Full with half mild and half spicy, along with mu (radishes). Whenever I'm craving KFC, I come here. This place suits my palate more than Pelicana, bb.q, or Bonchon. In terms of price, I think it's reasonable given the portion size. When I used to dine in, I remember the staff were friendly and attentive. The interior is spacious and bright, and there's plenty of parking available. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves KFC and hasn't tried this place yet!
I used to be OBSESSED (and maybe still am) with the Honey Butter seasoning here! So delicious. If you love a sweet and savory combination, this is my go-to. Definitely an acquired taste though. Get this on the wings, boneless, or the fries! :) You can never go wrong with the Soy Garlic as well. Crispy and packed with flavor. Not too salty either! I love to pair this with the Rosé Dukbokki too. The best creamy sauce with rice cakes! A little pricey, but it definitely gets you full. FYI: Sorry vegeterians! No options for you besides maybe some fries or onion rings...
Food: - Crispy Fried Original Spicy - Great. Steaming hot, moist chicken with crispy breading. Spice level was just enough and not overbearing. Mix of wings and drumsticks. Comes with a side of picked radish to help calm the taste buds and lips if they are burning. - Other flavors I've had in the past: Crispy Yang-Num was too spicy for me, Crispy Garlic was average. Service: Great. Pick up was order ready in 15min, was able to grab and go without any wait. Ambiance/Vibe: Good. They do have sitting area in the restaurant and some people were eating inside, wasn't packed and was clean. Worth sitting down to have the chicken as crispy, hot, and fresh as possible if you can't get back home right away. Cost/Value: Good. Fried chicken is pricey in general, but on par with other premium fried chicken places in the area Visit Again? Yes, just the original crispy is good enough to have once in a while as a treat. They have other flavors worth trying, but might be hit or miss depending on what you prefer.
1082 E El Camino Real Sunnyvale, CA 94087 (El Camino East Center) (5:15pm, Wednesday, rainy, cool temps) The other day my job had me in Sunnyvale, and I spotted this Vons Chicken place in a small shopping center. I decided to go in and try their chicken. The young man asked me to look at the menu, then he would punch in my order. I ordered: 1 Half Order of Crispy Drums, Medium Heat, 5 pcs. (Price $17.99 + Tax= $19.63) My order took about 10-mins to prepare. There were 4-5 people in the dining room. The menu said 5 pieces, but I received 6 meaty drumsticks. No complaints there. Wow, the fried chicken must of been fresh out of the oil with no cooling time on a rack. Temperature wise, it was TOO HOT to pickup and eat. That chicken was lightly crispy, a nice soy garlicky taste, and had a slightly numbing medium spice level. Just right for me. I like the fried chicken, but would like to try the oven roast next time.
